Sequim Lavender Weekend

The annual Sequim Lavender Weekend occurs every July. Enjoy farm tours and a street fair with live music and great food (if you like fair food, which I do). This fun-filled weekend is packed with entertainment, like a street dance on Saturday evening.

One of my favorite U-Pick farms is Graymarsh Berry Farm, which also has U-Pick berries, as the name implies. The rows of lavender snake down rolling hills on this 1,000 acre farm on Woodcock Rd. If you venture into the strawberry fields you’ll notice a spectacular Olympic Mountain view in the background.

Sequim’s mild weather in the rain shadow of the Olympics makes it an ideal climate for growing lavender. There are different types, some that are best for culinary uses, some that are best for extracting essential oils, and some that are just for show, like Spanish Lavender.

Lavender blooms all around the city of Sequim in the months of June and July.

If you’ve never tried lavender lemonade or ice-cream, this is your chance.  Drop by our Windermere Sequim-East office for free maps and brochures of the event. More information about the festival is available at:
